Industry, health & care engagement

Our Industry, health & care engagement service is responsible for supporting and developing both new and existing strategic projects.

Getting your project on track

We can assist organisations with both strategy, procurement advice, project planning, business and commercial partnership arrangements and change management.

What we do

Our industry, health and care engagement services include:

  • Strategy advice
  • Procurement advice
  • Business planning
  • Project planning
  • Collaboration management
  • Partnership management

All of these services are underpinned by thought leadership, navigation and signposting you to relevant supports, resources and potential collaborative opportunities across Scotland. Projects further along the development cycle can also benefit from our input to support routes to commercialisation and implementation into the health and care sector.

Strategy advice

All our projects need to be able to demonstrate and meet both the Scottish Government and DHI's innovation pools. Our engagement team will work with you during your initial application to develop your project and ensure it meets the strategic priorities for Scotland.

Procurement advice

We work closely with National Services Scotland (NSS) who provide procurement services for hospital wards, health departments and centres across Scotland. Our project portfolio is shared with NSS to provide updates on future potential opportunities for their procurement decisions. Advice can also be provided on the requirements for compliance with the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014, a national legislative framework for sustainable public procurement that supports Scotland’s economic growth through improved procurement practice.

Business planning

We work with small to medium size scottish enterprises who are in start-up or early development phases of their business. Our engagement team can provide assistance to gain support and advice for business development making introductions to the relevant supports, networks and resources to support this growth process. Our commercial service also works with these businesses to mentor businesses to ensure they are commercially ready.

Project planning

We have substantial strategic and operational experience in project, programme and change management to support organisational development and transformation in the public and care sector. Effective project planning is crucial to project success and our team can provide input to support this objective alongside our project management team.

Collaboration management

Many of the projects in our portfolio are interrelated and it is the role of the engagement team to collate and connect potential opportunities in order to support whole system design thinking within care provision and support

Partnership management

All DHI project applications require an academic, business and civic partner for approval. The engagement team can facilitate strategic and operational partnerships between these agencies to create the necessary collaborative arrangement to support the project objectives. In the first instance we will work with scottish academic, business and civic partners but also have established relationships with global bodies for the provision of further digital health expertise or thought leadership.
