Who is the demonstrator environment for?

Academic, business and health and care and third sector will be invited to participate in DHI challenges over several years. DHI will prime the demonstration environment and develop ways of quickly activating business and academic capability for enabling digital infrastructure as these challenges progress. This will be handled in many ways, specific to the three main contributing groups:

SMEs

We will be setting up a procurement framework (likely a Dynamic Purchasing System), which will be targeted at SMEs who will be eligible to participate in mini-competitions to fund bursts of development activity. The estimated value is up to £20,000 for 4-8-weeks of activity as part of our responses to our work commissioned by Scottish Government.

Corporate enterprises

We're currently looking for corporate partners for the sponsorship and participation in key supply chain development opportunities as a key part of the demonstrator environment is to create easily adoptable and scalable infrastructures.

In many cases, health and care commissioners will require corporate partners to provide turn-key solutions, and there is an opportunity for us to nest digital infrastructures and care models developed in the demonstrator environment within existing or new corporate propositions. To gain access to this unique, consortia based environment, corporate partners are invited to discuss with our team how you can support this opportunity.

Academics

We aim to identify and fund a few Scottish research groups to support developments by working in partnership with us to:

  • scrutinise and assure the technical development work funded by us
  • advise on emerging technical approaches
  • support the development of additional funding bids to external sources.

We expect the academic groups to show expertise in many digital health and care emerging fields including:

  • distributed data systems
  • modern cyber security approaches
  • developing connectivity landscape.

We expect academics partners to have a background working with Scottish businesses on some of these infrastructure approaches.
